A native of New York City, violinist Katrin Stamatis enjoys a varied career as a performer and teacher. She graduated from Barnard College, where she was enrolled in the joint program with Manhattan School of Music. She received her Masters of Music from Mannes College of Music in 2004. Stamatis has played in the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and the Chelsea Symphony, with which group she was featured as soloist in the Brahms Double Concerto. She has served on the faculties of the Calhoun School and the Larchmont Music Academy, and was a Visiting Professor of Violin and Viola at Drake University from 2009-2010. Stamatis is currently principal second violin in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, and performs with the Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble.
