Join us this summer for musical magic! JUNE 11-25, 2017
Our two-week summer intensive is geared toward serious young players who want to commit themselves to a rigorous daily workout involving orchestra rehearsals, lessons, master classes, individual practice, and plenty of performance opportunities.
FOOSA PHILHARMONIC PROGRAM
*A select number of exceptionally advanced younger pre-college students may be offered spots in the FOOSA Philharmonic. Eligibility will be decided on the basis of submitted audition videos and teacher recommendations.
Our FOOSA Philharmonic is a pre-professional orchestra that allows advanced musicians of college and high school age* to enjoy a side-by-side performance experience with our outstanding faculty members.
Repertoire for summer 2017: Strauss, Don Juan; Mahler, Symphony No. 6.
Instrumentation needs: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute/piccolo, oboe/English horn, clarinet/bass clarinet/e-flat clarinet, bassoon/contra, horn, trumpet, trombone/bass trombone, tuba, timpani, percussion, and harp. FOOSA HALF-DAY PROGRAM
Our FOOSA Half-day Program is a commuter program (participants attend only from 9a-1p each day) for younger and/or less advanced players, appropriate for elementary through high school students who play violin, viola, cello, or double bass. If there is enough interest from wind and brass players, we will expand the program to include them. Please apply early so we can plan for your participation!
The FOOSA Festival takes place on the Fresno State campus.
